The Nebula Award-winning sequel to Parable of the Sower, Parable of the Talents continues the story of Lauren Olamina, founder of the Earthseed faith, as she and her followers try to build a sustainable community amid the chaos of a collapsing near-future America. When a violent Christian fundamentalist movement led by a ruthless zealot rises to power, Lauren's community is shattered and her family torn apart, forcing her to fight for her beliefs and her survival. Told partly through the eyes of Lauren's estranged daughter, this searing, prophetic novel is one of Octavia Butler's most acclaimed works.
